Opportunity: I want to solve the problem that people sometimes or frequently forget to bring an umbrella in Florida (I want to start with the campus first).
Product/Service: I want to place some machines that densely located on campus (Like on every dining center and college building, but the further research will required to determine where do people densely located to take shelter from rain. Liberty maybe a great place.) Those machines require UFID cards or cell phone App to rent/sell umbrellas or raincoats. (Renting can be free as long as they return it on time). People also are welcome to sent feedback through App, and if we think the feedback if awesome and can improve our service, the person who sent the feedback will be rewarded.

I interviewed other 5 different people, only 2 of them sometime or usually for get to bring an umbrella, 3 of them rarely forget to bring an umbrella. Also considering the interview from last time, I found something interesting. The person who don't forget umbrella always keep an umbrella in their backpack. People sometimes forget to bring umbrellas are those who usually don't bring a backpack with them (I don't like to bring a backpack as well unless I need to carry something like laptops, books or many other stuff). Also there is one person, his answer stand out from my interview. Since he have a car, and he usually drive his car when he go out, he doesn't really need an umbrella as much as those who doesn't have a car.

Why: People sometime do not see weather forecast before go out, also it weather may different with time and place, sometime the forecast is not absolutely accurate. While it start to rain and people forget to bring umbrellas, they can find a way to deal with it (rent or borrow on).
Outside the boundary
Who: People who have a car, people who don't usually go to campus, and people who always keep an umbrella in their backpack(And they do bring their backpack with them !!!!)
What: They do not need a place to rent or borrow umbrellas
Why: Since the need is only exist if you will forget your umbrella and don't have other way to deal with it intensely while this situation happen. Those people above do not have the need so they are outside the boundary. Especial for those how have a car don't really need an umbrella, since they have a car. Also if you just keep an umbrella in the car it should solve any kind of situation. Also it will be doable and relatively easy if I started only in the campus area. If I want to cover the range of the whole Gainesville city it's going to be supper expensive. |
