6A – Identifying Opportunities in Economic & Regulatory Trends
1. In China, Birth Control was implied in a period of time which means according to the law each family can only have one child or a huge amount fine will be charged. In that case, there will be an issue with the retirement program just like the U.S.(The issue caused by the baby boomers). So people will probably need some new program to secure their retirement.
The Birth Control is a common knowledge in China. I think it is an opportunity because the situation is similar to the U.S. The customer will be the people who were and will be retired in a cupule decade. It is a relatively hard problem to solve since it is a huge social issue and the U.S. is still discussing that problem.
I see the opportunity but others may not. It is because most Chinese people don't know the U.S. a lot, especially about the history of baby boomer and the impact of it.
2. The economy always faces a depression after reach the peak of its growth. I believe the economy is stably growing in the U.S. and China. It means a depression is coming. However, I don't know when. There probably will be a need for the society to make a smooth transition or there will be a chaos in society.
I learned it in my Intro to Business class in high school. I believe it is an opportunity because it is a common law of economics. The customer will be everyone in the society or it could be the government. It will be a hard problem to solve. Since it took a very long time for the U.S. to recover from the great depression.
I think many people probably noticed it. But we don't know what we really can do about it.
3. There are more and more people in China people started to study aboard (mostly in the U.S. and Canada). There will be an opportunity that people what to know more about schools in other countries. They will be an increase in all the study aboard services.

The customer will be the student in China who want to study aboard. This opportunity is relatively easy to exploit. There is some organization that helps those students already. It is not a difficult task, the need exists just because they have never studied aboard before. They just need someone who knows about it to help them.
Most people did not see this opportunity because the people who study aboard is not the majority. The majority will not notice it or don't want to know more about it.
4. I notice there are some safety issue happen a lot when I am doing the previous exercise. Like the news of the motorcycle and a boy fall from the 12th floor and die. I think there will be a need to increase the overall safety of society. I don't really know what could we do about it but it is a problem there. I think it is a relatively hard problem since it is a social issue that all society is facing and we don't know how can we do to improve it efficiently.

It is important in the business industry to be aware of global current events and the reactions of society. You mentioned the increase of students studying abroad like yourself which is becoming a rising opportunity. Other specific topics such as the birth control regulations in China, environmental safety, and economic depression are current events us as future entrepreneurs should not just be aware of, but be able to critically analyze in order to implement active solutions.
